Additional habitat protected for Florida Panther
The Nature Conservancy, in cooperation with the local and state government, has successfully purchased the development rights for the 2,000 acre Black Boar Ranch in Hendry County. While the ranch itself hosts suitable puma habitat, it is also a significant travel corridor for cats attempting to cross State Road 80. Seeing as Florida panthers need all the help they can get, this can only be a step in the right direction.
