| You Can Help
As we work to build an understanding of cougars and advance the
knowledge of the species, The Cougar Fund depends on the gracious
support of our donors ,members and friends. It is through people
like you that we are able to continue our work and extend our efforts
to the growing need for sound science in wildlife management and
the spirit of a well-educated public who can demand such expertise
from those officials charged with conserving our wildlife resources.
The Cougar Fund considers itself a niche organization. Many organizations
define themselves by what they are not--“anti” . Seeing
a need for a different model in wildlife conservation nonprofit
work, The Cougar Fund works instead to bridge the gap between the
people in the field doing the laborious, inspired work of research
and the general public, striving to bring crucial information to
the attention of the layperson and game managers alike in a form
that educates, moves and rallies all involved to make more informed,
educated decisions about living and recreating in, and moving to
cougar country.
The Cougar Fund works with sportsmen and non-consumptive users,
takes a proactive, collaborative role in working with state game
agencies, and uses some of the most prominent voices in the arts
and conservation world to shed light on the role of Puma conconcolor
in nature.
